We live about 30 min away from two different Aldi stores. One of them is down the street from the Sams we go to a couple of times a month.

So my question is, what do you buy there on the regular? How does it fit into your grocery habits?

I've been there a few times and picked up some of the fruit wines each time, which is legit. But otherwise, I just find myself wandering around, wondering what is really a good price / good deal, especially since so much of it is private brands I've never heard of.

We don't really. We tried and it just didn't make sense. We will still hit them up for wines and cheese occasionally if I'm smoking cheese.

We do walmart pickup orders and get 5% off with those.with walmart cap one card. And then hit Sam's a couple times a year (have a free memembership from a manager friend).

We go every once in awhile, usually when my wife wants something from the Aisle of Shame.

We usually do Costco or Sam's club for the bulk paper stuff. I do Fry's or Safeway for most things based on sales, with trips occasionally to Sprouts. Aldi we hit occasionally when passing by when in the mood for their fruit wines, and grab a few other things while we are there, mainly meats and cheeses (GF loves their provolone).

Visited the Kenner Aldi briefly. It was chaotic and the trashy customer base made me depressed as they all looked like EBT card recipients. The items were cheap, but also looked like generic brands. Turned around and walked out. Not sure what I was expecting, but didn’t like it one bit.

I buy the same things...

Costco:
Green beans
Tomato sauce, diced, paste
Corn
Honey
Olive oil
Balsamic
Chicken stock
Pasta
Salsa
Rice
Eggs
milk
Carbonated water
Monsters
Dip
Meats and cheese
Shrimp cocktail
Bison
Beef
Pork tenderloins
bacon
Chicken
Tomatoes
Potatoes
Onions
Strawberries
Blackberries
Lettuce
Carrots
Cucumbers
Wine
Dog food
Formula
Cleaning supplies

Meat markets for sausage.

Grocery store for seasonings, specialty oils, vinegar, snacks.

A new grocery store chain gains us nothing really.

If anything my grocery store is where I bought shite I don't need

If you drive 30 minutes to go to a discount grocery store, you're retarded.

We get most of our produce from Aldi or Lidl.

Most of our meat, household stuff, and some snacks from Publix/Kroger. Though the German stores have good deals on meat sometimes.

We have an Aldi 3 mins from our house.

We generally buy produce, bread and dairy items from there. As someone else said, they can have some decent deals on meats from time to time. Our kids like their take-n-bake pizzas.

During the holidays, they usually have a good assortment of international treats.

There is a new one 5 minutes from my work place and I stop by on my way home (I commute 30 minutes a day or two a week).

I tend to buy mostly produce (haven't been disappointed with any of it), bread, cheeses, coffee creamer and check out any other deals that are in my menu plan for the week.

This is the only Aldi I've ever been to .. it's clean, well organized, staff is really good. Nothing at this point for me to not like and no reason for me to not go.

That said, would I drive out of my way for it? Doubtful BUT it's entirely too convenient for me to NOT stop.

I was unimpressed. It's a great place to go for charcuterie. I didn't see much else. Cheap cheese though it's h golden.

I remember being a kid north of Hutto Texas and having to go to Round Rock or Pflugerville for groceries and it seeming like a half hour ride on county roads the whole time. I remeber the Texaco was ten miles away and that was the closest store.
Fast forward now and that whole area is built up.
