It's okay. Most parents won't have jobs to go to for the next 5 months anyway.

No way Baton Rouge or New Orleans schools will resume. I don’t see it happening.

I've said it the day schools closed that they won't open again this school year in Louisiana....I still believe that.

Five months with no education is going to be great for the next school year.

They are developing plans for online instruction, and also plans for students who do not have internet/computer access.

My problem is I love teaching and education, and I feel terrible for all my sweet students who will be at home for 5 months. A lot of kids don’t have the best or most loving parents or home environments.

Yeah, I think a lot of people don't realize how valuable school can be for some children. For many kids, it is their only shot at a hot meal. For some, it is an escape from abuse/neglect.

I mean as long as the cases aren't bad in said area and they see the number of nation wide cases going down, I don't see why they shouldn't.

It's about fricking time. Hopefully next she encourages all companies with employees who have the ability to work from home to do so. Unfortunately, most of the state mindset money first, people's lives second.
