Inside info. Word is it’s Arnold’s wife and friends who were on their way to France (refueling).

If you’ve ever flown private, it’s something you can imagine and it’s terrifying.

Wow this is horrible. A family member worked with them for years. Nothing but good things to say about them personally.

Why the hell are they trying to fly in this storm?

Plan continuous bias aka get-there-itis

Trying to get to your destination for a specific time or event and ignoring warning signs such as weather to delay your flight.

Very sad.

They likely stopped to refuel as the Challenger 600 can't fly TATL from Houston. Headed overseas given the storm it would make sense to get as close as you could before topping off. It is a fantastic plane and by all accounts the pilots were very qualified.

Mah.. these guys will probably sue everyone from beyond. These types of lawyers are dirt bags. Their job is legal extortion and wealth transfer from producers in this country. They make everything more expensive for the rest of us. So I’m not too broken up..

According to the local people in Bangor last night, there were no survivors. 3 crew 5 passengers.
Got a text right when it happened, lived there and flew in and out of BGR hundreds of times. Longest runways on the East Coast.

I was wondering why they did this, or if they rushed things to try to take off earlier than planned and before the worst hit them trying to somehow fly around it.

Very curious why they’d choose that path, but a private plane with 3 crew isn’t going to likely screw around compared to one where the pilot owns it and flies himself or there’s just a single pilot that makes a personal bad decision.

The private plane I’ve flown on the weather was discussed quite often because our take off times were obviously very flexible. So we could bump it either direction however we wanted.

Weather in Miami is fine. Could they not have went through South Florida and then on to France somehow? Skiiing in the French alps or going to Paris? Either way I can’t imagine pushing through that storm was close to necessary.

ETA: dang crashed during take off?

I’m very much aware of that. But again, the weather is a little important

ETA: Miami is also 300 miles closer to Houston. It’s possible the plane couldn’t make it from Miami to Paris. But I’d assume they could have stopped over somewhere. It’s also possible the weather was safe and not a factor here, but it says it just started snowing
