24 hours and 23 minutes

I believe Qantas is going to offer similar length flights starting in 2027

Did it just take the longest way possible to make it a 24 hour flight?

Would people rather this or a 16 hr flight followed by a 2 hr layover, followed by an 8 hour flight?

Scruffy couldn’t imagine doing this in steerage.

That’s kinda the point of an endurance flight.

feel like you hit a point of diminishing returns once you cross the 12 hr mark so id probably just take the direct flight at that point

this flight is mostly going to be for business travel though and that kind of traveler typically prefers direct/non stop since they just want to get from point A to point B as quick as possible and qantas is being eaten alive by the gulf carriers on their route to london

Yes a350 is nice, but I don’t care if its in upcoming 777-9, that long in a metal tube….sounds terrible.

If you’re in business class getting your balls rubbed, its tolerable.

Interesting they even have regular economy seats on these upcoming routes whereas Singapore went for an all premium cabin on their flight to JFK

Would assume this will be over 50% premium though

Seems like a general heading of 303 degrees would have saved about 2,700 nautical miles in distance. Maybe it has something to do about restricted airspace over non-friendly nations.

Could you imagine sitting in economy for that long?

My back hurts after a 3 hour flight.

Yea, it would break me.

I am convinced that modern economy seats angle forward.

They need to look into adding mid-ocean stops.
