I would say that used in a certain way those words can definitely be offensive and I am about as un-PC as they come. But it is stupid to list the words. Common sense says be respectful to your colleagues. Grown people shouldn't need an email reminder.

I'm not a PC guy but I can see how the AF doesn't want supervisors throwing around boy.

For about a year or so back in 02 or 03 we had a list of words that were banned, and the appropriate replacements, if necessary...
Cockpit became flight station

It's 2017....I'm pretty sure NO ONE is doing this. I retired from the AF in '99 and no one was doing it then.
