Bogie's Bar filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after the bar announced it would be closing on Jul 6. The LSU campus-area dive bar was in business for more than two decades. The bar owner, Aaron "Mugsy" Saulnier owed the landlord, Michael Butler, about $92,000 according to bankruptcy filings. The Louisiana Department of Revenue tax bill was more than $56,800, records show.

I had heard that bogies had fallen out of favor and had been a ghost town lately. Heard this from cousins who are still young and fun

Absolutely, and spending it on frivolous shite, blow, and his baby mamas.

He didn't even keep enough in his accounts to pay the taxes on what he DID report to the government.

The Library in Oxford was named one of Forbes' top 10 grossing college bars in America I believe.

On game weekends they'll have $40-60 cover and it hits capacity by dark. So a 1,000 person place (its huge) is one-in-one-out for 5 hours 3 nights in a row every home game for football season.

All cash at the door too.

I went in the owners office once after closing with a manager and some bartenders I knew and they had $20 bills from the covers from just that night stacked on his desk to be counted and it was RIDICULOUS. 6" tall stacks of $20 bills covering his entire desk and another small table in there. (Obviously the money wasn't flattened/binded so it would compress to smaller size, but still a shite load).

No fricking way he reports even half of that. And that was just 1 night and just the cover/door charges.

CSB, I know.

ETA:

Capacity is ~1,000 I think, not 3,000...3,000 paid cover in one night.

They said he had 500k-1M in assets and around 500k in liabilities.

Idk how you get 6 figures in the hole unless he bought someone out or pulled a bunch of money out of the company
