This EXACT thing happened to my brother in law. Wife was cheating on him. He found out. They argued. Guns stayed locked in biometric safe, but in an effort to get something on him, she called the cops. He ended up handcuffed laying in his front yard in front of his 5 year old daughter. He didn’t face charges as it was obvious to the cops what happened, and the wife ended up losing primary custody of the kids because of the false report.
This just shows relying on the public for “red flag” laws is inherently dangerous. If he had not recorded the audio of the entire event, it’s a he said, she said and he’s in deep shite.

So if someone has been diagnosed with some type of mental illness and they suddenly flip out.. Threatens to kill their family and/or themselves. The police are called and when they arrive, that person is live streaming, with their their gun in hand and saying a bunch of irrational bullshite. you think the police should just ignore the situation because he hasn't yet violated his constitutional rights?
