You see that word, (floating) wood laminate flooring. It is designed to move, some areas will make more noise than others. All wood floors make noise, I have nail down, and we have a few places that make a little noise. If this is what keeps you up at night, you and the wife are living a blessed life.

Use the email and your wife's emotional distress as leverage. I'd try something along the lines of the email upset her so much that she doesn't even want the flooring in the house anymore. Tie the two together, pour the outrage on thick and hope they cave for a full refund to avoid the negative publicity. If it works, take the money and have a proper floor installed.

Thinking more about it now, I think it's also relevant if this is on a slab or on a 2nd floor or elevated house.
I assumed this is 1st floor on a slab in which case there's something wrong with the installation IMO. If it's 2nd floor or elevated, sometimes you just have to accept that wood floors may be a bit noisy even when properly installed.

That’s going to be my angle. The emotional damage they caused based on an email from some Little prick trying to just sweep this under the rug. She was in a sun dress you couldn’t see past her calves. The creaks were loud.

It is first floor, we had to chip everything down to the slab then float then pad. Installation was by the book.

I would agree with the expansion gap assessment, or your slab may have some low spots that the installer failed to level up.

Bamboo is strong enough to be used as scaffolding that can hold tons of bricks and 100 chinamen working, but cannot hold up your wife walking across it without cracking. That sounds like BS or your wife is more than a little heavy.

We have wood floors and they always make noise. I thought if you wanted quiet you got carpet? Sorry about the runaround with contractor, crap like that makes my blood boil too.
