Break into the dentist and steal their nitrous as payback

Make sure the nitrous is fresh. My last trip to the dentist, he must have been using some expired nitrous because after I woke up, my arse was really sore and he explained that it could be a side effect of the nitrous

Go to an independent dentist, not LA Dental Center or Delta Dental or whatever.

Yea I went from a local Dentist on Bluebonnet to La Dental in Gonzales when we moved out here. EVERY Single time they charge me $20 or $50 extra for some shite I didn't ask for that my regular cleaning doesn't cover. They have me on my back and mouth all open and go "now i'm going to do [insert upsell procedure]. is that okay?"

And I didn't realize i was authorizing these extra services each time. Took me 1.5 years(3 visits) to catch it.

frick that bullshite.

I know a retired guy named Doc who fixes teeth in his garage. But you’ll have to go to Mexico.

I stick to my six month checks I have bonding on my teeth that needs to be repaired about once a year. When I moved to Iowa a couple years back I got a new dentist and it took 3 fricking appointments to get anything done and they were pushing all kinds of stuff. This lady told me I needed a mouth guard, called the insurance in front of me to make sure it was covered - I even got it in writing what the dentist said the insurance would pay. Then this lunatic sent me a bill for $800 for a plastic mouth guard on top of $300 for a 5 minute bonding fix. I gave her a bad online review after she told me to pound rocks when I brought the issue up with her. Found a dude at my country club and told him about what a scam this place was and I’ve been going to him for about a year and a half. Everything is done in one appointment- who has time for multiple appointments? And I’ve yet to pay more than $25 for any visit. My advice…tell them up front you’re not about bullsh$*- the multiple visits for one minor issue is a huge BS red flag. Ask for all costs up front… And keep switching until you find a good dentist.

Been going to same dentist for 37 years. He never upsells.

I've only had 2 dentists regularly in my lifetime. The father until he retired then his son. Never had a sales pitch. Cleaning and the Xray is every other visit. I've had 1 cavity since I was 8 yrs old.

Chain dentistry or offices with marble floors and counter tops expect an incoherent sales pitch.

Get recommendations from friends and family members. Read online reviews. Find a dentist in a private practice rather than the doc in a box variety that you tend to find in strip malls.

They are making up for that year of no income by trying to fix every tooth in your mouth and over charging.

Mine has this new thing where they want to do a teeth cleaning, then a super cleaning 3 months later and then a third cleaning.

They kept texting, calling, emailing over and over and over about this so I had to tell them to frick OFF>

The preventive stuff…like when I show you a photo of a tooth with a crack in it and say it needs a filling or a crown… that’s so you don’t call on a Monday morning with a molar broken in half and need a root canal plus a crown or an extraction.

Also lol at people saying “they don’t need a night guard” a good dentist would show you the photos of the enamel you are losing on your teeth and other issues leading to the diagnosis. It’s not normal to grind your teeth away.

Sure. Try a dental school with an orthodontic program. Major universities with a dental training program will often have one. They offer services at a lower cost. Another option are low cost clinics. There is one in the city where I work called the Interfaith Dental Clinic which offers services on a sliding fee scale.

Ask the dentist if he has a milk connection... Tell him you've heard breast milk is best for building strong bones and teeth. Offer to pay him cash or turn him in for overcharging for toothpaste
