Not a joke at all, Q blows copilot and chatgpt out of the water in the IT space. It's not even comparable. Chatgpt can't structure an excel sheet without formula errors. It damn sure can't write code, Q is in a league of its own for agentic coding.

I got news for you man, they are all pretty awful in their own interesting way…. But Q cant even get AWS topics right. It is by far the worst AI assistant for accuracy. But hey, it will answer you like it’s right sooooo….

Use them for actual coding, not advanced googling and you will see. Q is the most consistent from a turning ideas into code perspective.

I use it sometimes. I know its not everyone's favorite, but I used ChatGPT a lot and that's my go to.

Most people and this is according to ChatGPT, only roughly 10% of its users know how to properly use it.. Which I believe, especially because of all the kids who get caught using it to write papers for them, etc.

If you just telling to write you a 10 paragraph report on the book animal farm it will be obvious.

You can feed it some of your notes so it can be familiar with your style of writing, then go paragraph to paragraph. "Write an opening paragraph for the book animal farm using my style of writing. Use my writing style for the whole essay. In the essay my main focuses will be _____, ____, _____, ___ & ___ and it will do the first paragraph, then for the next paragraph you have to say something like "this is were I want to go into ____..

What I am saying is that you have to put some work into it. Its a tool, its makes it easier to write a report, but its going to be shite if you just let it do it without details. Its today's pen. You can use it to write, but you have to know how to use it to be able to write.

Or, maybe we don't respect people who outsource their work to AI. We punish students who use AI to write reports, but we're expected to accept that incompetence in the workforce?
I guess you’ve never heard the phrase work smarter not harder. But you’re right all those guys that have not embraced the internal combustion engine because they didn’t want to “outsource” their manual labor to mechanical machinery are still so highly respected for still doing all their own work.

copilot sucks. we have the premium version and its shockingly bad at helping write code or understand what i'm saying.

i keep my private chatgpt and cursor accounts and every time i get pissed off at copilot i go to one of those and realize its not me, its just more shitty microsoft shite.

copilot is just the 2026 version of Clippy

My work: We want everyone to use Copilot. Take advantage of it.

Me: So I can get it to do all my research, analysis, and reports.

My work: No, no, no, not that, but we do want you to take advantage of it.

Me: Oh, ok, got it. So how do I use it.

My work: You just simply put in this prompt and say this and make sure to go edit this and make sure it says exactly this and this and then when it comes back proof it and look up the research so that you can insure your prompt says has the correct keywords in it and you can then use it as an example and make it your own.

Me: I could have done it all myself by the time I do all that.
Had this exact exchange with my work a few months ago we haven't touched it since.

I've found this is helpful. Run it on friday to recap and see if there is anything I missed follow up on

Scan my emails and Teams messages from this past week and summarize anything that requires my attention. Separate into items that require my action, items that are FYI, and items that need my approval. Use tabular format. And for each line item, suggest a response based on what is needed

I use ChatGPT Plus. So many of the resources for students are garbage. I use it to create articles and activities for the kids.

Ive never used copilot. Its an annoying button i sometimes click on accident.

But I clicked it to see what I can do. It gives me, create an image, improve writing, find my files, help with my pc.

None of this would help me at work. Maybe if I did a lot of writing or image creating.

I can't even get this pile of shite google gemini to simply extract data from my gmail box from a particular email source and organize it into a csv I can cross reference with sales data.

IE i get leads from an email leads@leads.com I want to export a lead list from email and then export my sold client list from our primary software suite to cross reference how many leads from that source actually bought this year. gemeni will create a table with limited data but when I try to get a full dataset it just reponds with a bunch of bullshite about what it can't do.

I guess I could connect the email address to outlook and give copilot a crack at it.
