Possibly, a ton more kids opted for virtual than they thought and those kids may all need computers etc etc
Or, they are just lazy fricks and blew this
But I give St.Tammany more credit than any other school board in louisiana

We are in phase 2, their plan shows phase 2 has pk-5 in traditional school 5 days a week

They’re hoping we’ll be in phase 3 by then. The things they are being forced to do by opening in phase 2 are unreasonable and ridiculous. No recess, lunches in classrooms, no breaks for teachers and not even a break room if they had breaks. Not to mention all the kids wearing masks all day. Those kids are going to going ape.

Here in Kentucky we were set to do a hybrid in June and then cases jumped and a much larger percentage of parents polled that they wanted virtual instead.

Then why not prep for your school to be virtual for the first month or two in terms of classes and lessons, or is this delay strictly to line up equipment?

The holiday breaks got gutted. No Mardi Gras, Shortened Christmas, shortened thanksgiving, no parish fair, shortened Easter.
Basically they shortened the time kids will be home to get “new germs” and nuked the ability for mass congregation for the fair and Mardi Gras.

The new schedule has zero days off for Mardi Gras. Gonna be a whole lot of absences that week from everyone who already has vacations booked

My kid is on private school and they are starting August 17th and plan on using the hybrid model.
He's in high school so I'm just happy he gets to go back and start feeling normal again.

I've heard from several teachers in that district that every student will get a Chromebook this year, whether fully virtual or not, and there is a delay in getting that many Chromebooks in house and set up. The district won't even get most of them until later in August, and then has to set them all up.
