It’s gonna affect a lot more people and professions. Car insurance, rent, electricity, and all kinds of other bills aren’t going to get paid, because people have to eat first.

The ability to separate those in true need and those working the system requires a government that does it’s job.

The S stands for SUPPLEMENTAL. Most of these lazy fricks on the program are trying to feed themselves for the entire month on it. This is definitely possible but they don't have the budgeting or shopping skills to do it.

I remember that a city cop in New Iberia needed food stamps just to get by to feed his family.. he is trying to protect the lazy losers that get like $1000 a month of stamps while having 5 kids from 5 different dudes… tell me what’s wrong with this picture.

Based on WIC participation data, a majority of the participants are children and infants:

Children and infants do not shop at the grocery store…how can you not see the problem? Money is allocated to people that cannot make their own decisions, cared for by people that make bad ones.

Most of the shite bought with EBT is soda and snacks. Infant formula is like #6 following mostly a bunch of junk food. This is the exact moment where rational people try to negotiate.

I’m not actively rooting for it, but their own damn politicians have played this game of chicken from every angle for too long and needs to own the crash.

Sorry I upvoted without reading thinking you were rooting for it. Then I realized you’re a dumb libtard and changed it to a downvote.

Neither is the answer. I don't know what the answer is. It's complicated, basically. But, actively rooting for food stamps and WIC to expire next month and for their to be chaos sure as frick isn't the answer.

It’s really not complicated. “Rioting for expiration” is not the actual position. What you are seeing is simply the acknowledgment that the democrats have put themselves in a terrible political position - they are the ones holding this show up. They need to deal with it.

Yes I am. What’s your solution if what I suggest is so ludicrous?

How exactly is this Trumps fault? Democrats could easily sign the CR, that would continue the government funding, exactly like the last administration had it. Instead they are simply putting illegals ahead of Americans.

But WIC is a list of approved items, oatmeal, cereal, milk, cheese, things for kids. It lists the brands and sizes. The way it should be. I have no issues with WIC.

This was fairly common among enlisted people in the military, too. Except e dogs don't get paid for overtime.

The Dems don’t even have to vote for the CR. They just need to allow only 8 Dem Senators to vote for cloture to end debate on funding which would then allow an actual vote on the CR in the Senate. Those 8 can still vote against the bill if they choose to do so.

Instead they basically choose to filibust against funding status quo spending levels while blaming Republicans.

They prefer the image of people starving and the threat of violence to coerce Republicans and the President into removing the penalty on states that fund illegals using medicaid, to force another extension of the covid welfare subsidies for Obamacare that were extended once already by the Dems under Biden’s Autopen (which has actually made healthcare more expensive for everyone), and to force the adding back of USAID and other govt department funding of Dem political NGOs for alphabet programs around the world.

Illegals, alphabets across the globe, and still using covid to increase welfare spending regardless of the inflationary effect for everyone else or the fact that covid is no longer a pandemic are the Dems’ priority.

Here is a table that highlights some of the key benefits and support available through the food stamp program:

Benefit/Support Description
Monthly Benefits Eligible military families receive a monthly benefit amount that can be used to purchase food items. The amount is based on household size, income, and expenses.
Grocery Store Discounts Some grocery stores offer discounts to military families who use their food stamps to purchase food. These discounts can help stretch your food budget even further.
Nutrition Education The food stamp program provides access to nutrition education resources, such as classes and workshops, to help military families make healthier food choices.
Employment and Training Assistance If you are seeking employment or looking to improve your job skills, the food stamp program can connect you with training programs and resources to help you achieve your goals.

quote:

This is why the Army releasing guidance this week to Soldiers on how to apply for food stamps is so shocking and troubling. The Pentagon, recognizing rampant inflation, suggested that service members should take advantage of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly known as food stamps. SNAP is one of several options the military leaders suggest as part of the Army’s Financial Readiness Program.

Maybe you don't recall the car loans that Army guys take out before they're out of AIT?

The notable thing about the OP (and many others in this thread) is that they do not believe someone can be a good, morally decent person unless they ideologically support govt redistribution.

Under the logic of the OP, someone who volunteers his time and money every day at a food bank, charity, etc, is cruel if that same person happens to oppose govt-forced charity.

I want MAJOR reform here.

But there is no way anyone should be ok with it being cut off here soon.

Idc if only 5% of those folks use it the way many want them to. Thats enough to call it absolutely terrible if it gets cut off.

No one is entitled to someone else’s labor

And nothing is stopping you from giving people money out of your own pocket at the store to pay for someone’s groceries
