Jesus is this what people are like in neighborhoods now? I'm so glad I moved out to a place with no neighbors.

People are softies.
With regard to my inner circle, it is a requirement to put things on the table. It was tough in the beginning, and we had to drive some people out of the circle, but it is so fricking nice to be able to keep it 100 with the homies.
The key is to keep it 100 for the positive and the negative. It makes the pill easier to swallow when you have to say, "frick no you can't borrow my shite bc you don't take care of your own shite" when it is buried with "you're fricking amazing at xyz and that's why I fricking love you."

Not seven times, but seventy times seven times, brah.
j/k - In reality, it is a personal choice based on a lot of factors like your worldview, the type of people you are dealing with, etc. There is no right or wrong answer.

I'm hard headed, it took me a long time to learn this, but when I lend something to someone, even a close family member, I specifically TELL them when I expect it back. If they don't abide by that, they don't borrow any more. I have no problem telling them why.
Oh, yeh, you have proof now that they were not trying to get it fixed. If they still had it 3 weeks after they told you it was broken, they were expecting to borrow it for a long time.

I hear what you are saying and it's solid advice..It's not that I mark down favors given...But when I was in a jam a literally had to hire some movers and move the bulk of the stuff myself..

I’m more confused as to why they are okay with not taking care of their own shite.

Why don't you cut and paste the full correspondence for us to decided and not your Cliff Notes version of events you want us to hear. Let's see what was said. This is why we have the Home Stenographer.

Their mower was broke and shops closed. Just let them borrow yours...geesh

A real friend would’ve offered to help him fix it.
give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime

That $1,200 or $2,400 check they just received would buy an extremely nice mower and still leave plenty of cash for food, TP and PBR.
I'll allow it
