I mostly agree - not my job or not in my job description however - I loathe more.

Considering I work for the government and get told that 'they pay taxes and my salary' I say this all the time. Most people are stupid and do not understand how the government works especially with bigger jobs. Saying 'it's above my pay grade' gets the plebs off my back so I can go take my 2 hour lunch..... as soon as I finish my 45 minute break of course.

Tell me you work at a small business without telling me I guess? No one at the privately owned business I work for has an ownership stake except the family... not even the C level folks.

I’m just imagining the laughter behind closed doors at a Fortune 500 company if a manager walked in and tried to tell the CEO what to do.

The first question the CEO would be asking themselves is who the F is this person?

Then they’d probably decide whether to get rid of said manager based on whether whatever they proposed increased revenue or helped their annual bonus.

Either way, if you bypass a director and a VP and go straight to the CEO with something you are walking a tightrope across a volcano at most major companies.

Lol. I’ll use whatever phrase I choose at the necessary time.

These are my favorite threads on OT - OP says something stupid, gets down votes rained on them, and gets owned in the first page of responses

No it make you sound like someone who knows how to stay in your own lane. We need more of that in the workplace.

Too many asshats in office environments try to look to important to fire by digging their booger hooks in to everyone else job description.

This sounds like 1 of my 17 bosses. Dude tries so hard to be higher on the food chain than he really is. It's comical and sad all at the same time.

They're the exact same thing, champ. Not really a "combination."

I say it all the time. I get paid to do my job, not accept decision some making risks that are in fact above my pay grade. I’ll not be used as a scrape goat for someone else’s plausible deniability
