You didn't spot the one you just responded to.

Boston is awesome, but I do remember there being a decent homeless populace (this was like 2019). Certainly nothing out of the ordinary for a large city though and nothing close to some of the worst I’ve seen (Austin, Denver, SF)
It’s funny that it’s always portrayed as this tough, blue collar town with organized crime in movies because the reality is the exact opposite

Best city in the country by far imo. Great food, lots of history, people are great, clean.
I haven’t been since 2021 but I’ve always had a great time there.

I wouldnt expect someone on a quick trip to head down dot ave
I would personally find it difficult to pop around goverment center thru to the north end without at least stumbling thru downtown crossing at least by accident

Boston is a nice city with terrible weather. And the locals outside of the knowledge economy are as trashy as they come.

It would be pretty bizarre for someone to venture into Mattapan other than Super Saint looking for some crack and cheap whores and obviously Oldmanbeasley says that with all due respect for SS and his love of crack and nasty whores.

My brother lived out there for years so have been several times. If you are into history, walking the Freedom Trail is a must.
One of the more fun things we did was bar hopped the red line stations from downtown out to Alewife station. Harvard Square was a fun stop. Ended up by Faneuil Hall at the Black Rose.
Agree with what's been mentioned here. Boston felt very clean and very safe. That was probably a product of the places I visited though, pretty much everything along the Red Line and Green Line. Never went to Southie where it's rougher.

Too liberal
Too expensive
No positives will outweigh that

Walking around Boston, exploring, and finding Paul Revere's tombstone was pretty cool for me. I then read up and followed the Freedom Trail.
5/5 city experience. I would love to go back.

Southie is full of yuppie 20-somethings, popular bars and restaurants, and is one of the more popular neighborhoods in the city to live in.

It’s the colonial America. I go out every summer, spend time on cape cod, do a few days in Boston. I really like it. The little Italy is badass. I’d never spend a day there after Thanksgiving and before Easter. Place is miserable.

Spent a bit of time there when we were stationed in NY, as Boston was our hub. Little Italy and that food is freaking legit.
Loved walking the trails and visiting the Constitution.

We heckin love Boston. Tremendous amounts of Asians and Whites. Clean and safe.

Big cities are typically fun if you know where to go. Hell, I’ll vouch for Philly and Detroit. Boston was much cleaner than most when I went. I didn’t leave myself much time there. I like to find some of the grittier places too…not sure why.
Fenway in summer is great.

Philly is very underrated with the rep it gets nationally. There are obviously some very rough parts but the nice areas are very nice and it has a lot of the same colonial history vibe that Boston has

I can't even walk two blocks to get lunch in the CBD without being accosted by some bum.
