Why do we give so many excuses for cops but never any excuse for regular people in these situations?

Because people legitimately expect the actions of cops to have consequences but do not expect other people's actions to have consequences.

In short, there is no longer a sense of personal responsibility in this country.

but I imagine the officer didn’t intend the result..

He probably didn't want him to land on the concrete and split his head open, though he didn't seem too concerned by that outcome, but he meant to push him out the way. And if he wouldn't have fallen I'd guess they would've pushed him some more.

See, the old man bears no responsibility for his actions.

Cops should be held to a higher standard. It’s as simple as that

So again why are we making excuses for the cop?

they have just over 700 sworn officers.

This is a big deal.
No, it's not. None of those 57 officers have resigned from the Buffalo police department.

Try actually reading a linked article before you reveal your emotions, Karen.

Good, making it easy to identify the shitty cops, they are outing themselves.

He didn't exactly pull out an AK and cuss them out.

Because I see nothing wrong with his actions and believe that the old man would not have been pushed down had he not shown terrible decision making skills by approaching cop like that at quite possibly one of the worst times.

72 years of age is plenty damn old enough to have some situational awareness and understanding of what is going around you. If not, maybe stay away from where stuff like that is going on.

Approached an advancing line of police while likely being told to get back and had his hands moving in the area of the cop's weapon. He was the only protester in that area at the time, well in front of "their" line.

frick off with that superiority bullshite the Left thinks they have. Great way to try to get into hearts and minds of folks by letting them know how you're smarter than them and think very little of them.
