Either they are bringing in women without getting tied down or incels, generally.

A lot of them think they can just play the field forever then the music stops and they don’t have a man to settle down with

The decrease in functional, healthy families is the problem. Marriages are the root of that.
A society with less and less of the population having skin in the game for the future (children) is going to have prolonged and probably not good impact.

Article paints the picture that the average unmarried 40 year old is a black or Hispanic male without a college degree..doesn’t sound like a bunch of pussy magnets to me.

I think marriage is about a little more than being a "pussy magnet".

I work with a fair number of unmarried childless people who are at that age. They aren't really dating either. Seems lonely, but to each their own.

My comment was for the people saying “why get married when you can have a bunch of different women”. The research seems to show that might not be why they aren’t married.
Why are the African American rates more than double whites? Why the disparities based on education level?
What about being white or having a college degree makes someone more likely to get married?

I am fast approaching 40. I make low 6 figures. I get laid when I want to.
I do what I want, when I want.
Are there times when it would be better to have a partner, yes.
Do I get to miss the BS I don’t want? Yes.
I get to travel and waste my money on what I want.
No kids or wife to spend it for me.
Is this life for everyone? No, some friends are never able to be single for more than a few days.
I like my freedom.
Will I regret it when I am older, I do not know.
I do what I want, when I want.

I'd venture to say most of my original social circle are unmarried 40 year olds. As my kids have gotten older and we've moved into more kid-centric neighborhoods, I've gotten more and more friends similar to me in family structure so this has changed, naturally. I have absolutely nothing against my old school friends (who I'm also still very close with) ever getting married if that's their thing. However, I could never make it in that realm... especially with kids. There's just no way.

So have men. Dating app culture plays a lot into that. It's both sexes chasing perfection, when it doesn't exist. Or just chasing their next frick.
There's not much of the in-between anymore who accepts, especially past your 20s, that everyone has baggage. And that relationships are work.

As more and more people join your friends group instead of your nuclear family community it will get worse.
More single men and women=more opportunities for married women and men to jump ship and break up families. Then include the group effects among divorced women...who tend to get divorced in groups.
People won't care and will continue with the "doesn't effect me, so why should I care?" Mentality.
