Unless they are into farm animals the pickings are slim. Loads of pigs and cows out there though. Not even going to mention the even less attractive mentality/social mindset.

At least the women are making it obvious they are nuts now. Artificial color in the hair, face/neck/sleeve tattoos, signs they are poison.

I'm in that group and it was an easy decision to make.

I looked at the level of stress my siblings have from having kids and spouses and measured that against occasionally depression I get from being lonely and realized my baseline happiness was significantly higher with the occasional depression

"If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve my best" has been translated into I will be vile at all times and still expect you to grovel at my feet.

Let's not just bash on unmarried folks. I'm not impressed with people under 40 that are divorced either

Why are there so many "wrong ones" today? That's a problem.

Who has unrealistic expectations here?

Moot point. You can have a dual income household without being married.

Lol, this comment just exemplifies the society we live in that is consistently permissive of women's changes in behavior yet seeks to humiliate men who react to those changes.

But to be fair, if you make real good money and can get constant nookie all the time why get married.?????

Because there's more fulfillment in life than making money and getting your dick wet?

I think the bigger issue is men and women aren't learning how to coexist together in healthy ways. Our society has destroyed complementary gender norms and weakened the role of the nuclear family.

It was done to black families decades ago.

reminds me of old adage "want to go fast, go alone, want to go far, go together"

The vast majority of today’s women believe that, too. They have almost all of the leverage in any relationship, not just marriage, and they know it.

How many of these guys play video games, are fat and/or can’t make eye contact? Blaming divorce laws is probably short sighted.

I'm not exactly sure what this means. Are these the guys that just sort of go on sexual strike or something? That doesn't make sense. The flings and short term relationships are not usually an issue for guys. I can see being frustrated with having shitty options for long term prospects given how selfish people are.

My wife and I both have friends that are approaching 40 and are single. At some point we are going to have to set them up on a blind date or something. But neither seem to be desperate enough quite yet.

Meanwhile the rest of us in that social circle are married with kids. Our lives are increasingly more and more about kids and things having to do with our kids. It's kind of weird to hang out with bachelors and for them to hang out with us.

I really hope for future generations that this attitude dies with the younger millennials. So many of the women age had so many red flags. I got very lucky.

Highly doubt it dies out, look how popular the character of Beth Dutton was amongst women.

The trend is not surprising.

quote:

I am fast approaching 40. I make low 6 figures. I get laid when I want to.
Not a problem when you are 40, but as you age (like my friends) the attention you'll get will decline. My single buddies at 50-60 rarely get any action and they have done well financially. All the women that are even still in the game at that late stage are only looking for relationships and will hold out until they get a "keeper". I have a buddy that was a local football legend, MBA, lotsa cash, and he is alone and lonely. I guess you can always pay for it.

I've heard over and over from our single female friends in our age group that they want what me and my wife have. A fun, loving, committed relationship.
