A pause (and prayer) for everyone who is battling a major illness today

I go for annual health check up every year to MD Anderson in Houston. Blessed to leave with all good news.
Inevitably, I meet or run into people who are battling some major health issues.
To the lady I met in elevator who just left her appointment with good news to share (lung, liver and kidney tumors all shrunk) - salute! God bless you.
To the lady (chemo hair) who did not have strength to stand up in an elevator, God bless you.
To the man attached to a Christmas tree of rack of chemicals while walking down the hall, God bless you.
I leave with amazing appreciation for my health and much respect for those who are battling. God bless you all.

Cousin of mine is dealing with a serious battle at MD Anderson right now. Only in his 40’s, normally healthy as can be, wife and kids, was a very good athlete (baws in Lafayette know his name well), and it’s crazy to think he’s in the situation he’s in right now. Cancer does not discriminate. Prayers to all!

Prayers and Godspeed to all going through medical issues. We spent a few decades in and out of the hospital constantly with our oldest son and as tough as it was, we always came home with our son and many did not make it out of there.
We’ve been on a run of really good health with him and the rest of our family for about five or six years now other than one near catastrophic episode back in January, just always blessed for every day that we’re given. So thankful for that.
To all those in this thread reading and posting. Prayers for you all.

God Bless all.
I’ve been to the MD Anderson blood center so many times. I’ve donated Whole Blood, Plasma and Platelets over the years. I’ve gotten calls, from friends and relatives as to, if I can donate.

About a year ago I needed a hotel for business. I didn’t know it, but I booked one right on the outside of the MD Anderson community. It was at breakfast the next morning that I gained an appreciation for the hoards of people that are really in bad shape health-wise.
We take our health for granted all too frequently….when it goes to crap, you are really in a bind,

No sadder place on earth than a cancer hospital. Especially seeing the little kids going through that. If there was a god, which places wouldn’t need to exist.

Lung cancer survivor here. It has metastasized to my brain so I’m fighting a couple of brain cancer tumors. It’s a mental obstacle course and frustrating.

As does my wife!

Just because people get sick or bad things happen to them doesn’t mean God is out to get you or them. God never promised a perfect life of no pain or suffering, that’s the take of someone who has become bitter. I get it though, watching my wife nearly die several times with sarcoma isn’t fun to watch

My youngest was diagnosed with AML when she was 16 months old. My wife and I both had to take leaves of absence from work. We spent 8 straight months in the hospital with her. Thank God she is in remission now and is about to turn 6. The staff at the hospital are angels on Earth and have become lifelong friends.

Amen. Never take good health for granted and God Bless all those in patient care.

You’re right. I should say that cancer hospitals are proof that a loving god doesn’t exist.
