Same exact thing happened to my cousin. They ended up trying to shoot the hawk but the bullet ricocheted off an I-beam and killed a forklift driver. The hawk eventually found its way out.

Congratulations. He's given you a gift. Now you must reciprocate or risk his ire.

Do you have a forklift? If so raise the boom and try to scare the hawk out.

No doubt about it. It was terrible. The only saving grace was he was just a Mexican.

They typically will fly out later in the afternoon as the sun is not so bright.

None of that happened. He may actually have a cousin in the family but that's about it.

Cool. Your brother must not be very good at it if he isn't that hawk's master.

They should have picked "hawk master" when they had the chance.

Whatever ya do, do NOT let it see how big of a chicken you are!

Will not end well for you if you do.

I had to deal with this once. For being predators they sure are dumb when it comes to getting out the way they came in. You just have to wave your arms and look like a dumbass shooing him around back and forth until he figures it out.

take fresh kill and throw it out the open bay door and the hawk will follow

Yep, get something at or below the doors.
Had a problem with hummingbirds and put a feeder outside temporarily to lure them out.
Otherwise, they move upwards in confined spaces.
Ended up tying white & yellow survey flagging tape to the bottom of the bay doors and haven't had any problems since.
