If you are there and don't want to be, i'm positive your house will sell very fast. No one is forcing you to stay. If you do not want to spend your money in that area, no one is forcing you to. There are plenty of other options in the parish for dining, grocery shopping and all types of other retail. Spend your money where you want to. That option along with being able to vote on whether or not the land you own is inside of an incorporated area or not, is what makes this country so great.
what is up with all of the damn St. George supporters and their straw man arguments? You won. move on. Us in BR all have.

From what Mayor-President Broome has told me, next year's Mardi Gras parade in St. George is going to look like this:

I know.
Scotlandville's neighborhood boundary is Thomas Road to the north and Airline to the south. Which would include XOM Chemical.

Everyone in the parish funds EBRSO but only unincorporated areas and Central reap the benefits of EBRSO patrols
They will patrol your in area if you request them to. Uniform patrol is merely a fraction of the services the EBRSO provide. The entire parish has use of those services. The Baton Rouge City Police cannot patrol outside of the city limits, period.

8. Areas outside the BR city limits that were not incorporated in Saturday’s vote are still able to join St George.
...or they can petition to join Baton Rouge. It's that simple.

They can. Those petitions will go straight into the trash like the ones from 2015 trying to get their neighborhood annexed.

Stupid question but will St. George elect their own mayor and council?

The Baton Rouge Refinery is most certainly within the city limts of Baton Rouge. Where do you people come up with this crap.

I believe the governor appoints interim government until the next election is held.

No, I think he's right. The refinery property isn't technically incorporated into the city as far as I know.

Look at a Map of the city
Exxon-Mobil isn’t in the city.
And btw neither is Towne Center or BR Country Club or CC Estates.
Neither is a lot of the Mall.

It's actually not in the city limits. It may be patrolled by BRPD and serviced by BRFD, but it's not part of the municipality.

Learn something new everyday. It's completely redlined. It's right in the heart of North BR, but has been drawn out of the city limits.

It's never been in the city limits from the creation of the Standard Oil facility, IIRC.

This is a pretty good summary but everyone on Facebook still says I'm racist. I'm keeping quiet on the matter for now because I don't need any bullshite. Instead I'm just excited my house just went up in value and my taxes will finally start funding things I actually give a frick about.
