Yeah, but it’s better than dealing with the airlines.

No, they won’t have to with the tax on miles driven that is being pushed.

It doesn’t surprise me that people on here support this.

And it won’t surprise me when everyone supports GPS tracking on all vehicles or even on all people.

To think that Americans, at one point in time, would have laughed at the possibility of such insanity.

Oh well. I was clearly born in the wrong timeline.

it isn't because it was literally the same topic you asked about

a "whataboutism" is when someone tries to deflect the topic elsewhere

I'm anxiously awaiting the device that disables your car the second you look at your phone screen.

I tried to put them in all my trucks in Oklahoma a few years ago because those dumbasses kept getting fricked out and wrecking and the lawyers wouldn’t let me because of some privacy laws.

Man, all I can say about that is quality varies widely from one lawyer to another.

that's somehow slipped through the cracks in your line of work too, baw, I remember when there was a big fight to keep medical info confidential, now it seems any medical professional can get on the computer and know everything about you

I don't drink, so why should I have to blow into a breathalyzer before starting my car?

How about enforcing the laws that are already on the books more effectively, and bring about tougher sentences for people who are stupid enough get behind the wheel after having too much?

I can be fired for looking at the chart of a patient I am not actively involved in the treatment of.

As a matter of fact, a physician and a nurse at my hospital were both fired recently for that very thing.

So we are against measures to prevent or lower the incidence of drunk driving?

I imagine a lot of criminal attorneys are not looking forward to this.

Forcing every American to breath into a tube every time they get into their car is the appropriate way to do that?

No we are against over intrusion of government mandated safety devices that inconvenience everyone to appease/stop an extreme minority.

I'm against the ever increasing encroachment through government regulations deemed as necessary for "health and safety"

So I have to blow into a breathalyzer every time I drive? Frick that. Anyway, I drive better drunk than I do sober.

Would be way better if there was an automated hand that just smacked it the frick out of your hand.

ETA: if they actually do this my truck will only need gas once a year.

It was allegedly some specific Oklahoma law that prevented it. This was from one of the larger international firms that we used because the PE firm that owned us forced them on us. They did have awesome Astros tickets though.

One more thing to break on a vehicle. Ever rode in a truck with a breathalyzer? Have to pull over every so often to keep it running and they are finicky. Plus mouth was will set them off
