When it comes to hiding their stash of illegal drugs, teens can be quite clever, said Michael Davis, owner of a New Albany-based business that uses specially-trained drug-detecting dogs to search teens' bedrooms and sometimes cars at parents' behest.
Since September, the owner of The Last Chance (TLC) K9 Services said his German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois have found heroin, cocaine, marijuana, barbiturates and methamphetamines in cars, closets, bathrooms and bedrooms of most of the more than 50 homes searched in the Kentuckiana area.

It's a sad testament to your "family" if you feel the need to search your child with a drug dog.

If you have a serious concern about your kids, then I would say yes. It is worth it.

Not really, like termites or paternity...you're just doing your due diligence to see if there's an issue.

And when they find them, then what?

Are you so fricking stupid that you cant tell if your kids are high or drunk?

wow.. what happened to just being a good parent. doesnt take a rocket scientist to tell when your no good 16 yr old is on dope

Think they could help you find things you know you stashed away and forgot about?

Drugs do not discriminate based on income, sex, class, race, or religion.
I wouldn't do it, just to do it, but if a parent feels it is a real issue then I wouldn't hold it against them.

I would actually start a business that had a drug dog who I trained to act like he's found drugs.
I'd be hired by parents to scare the kids straight. But that's all it would be.

Who gets to keep the drugs? Asking for a friend with a possible new business venture.

And just like with calling drug dogs on your kids, the adults earlier irresponsibility and inaction are the only reason either of those things would be an issue.

How many kids do you have?
How many have you successfully raised?
Mine are not old enough where this is an issue yet, but I have good friends who are good people and good parents whose children just cannot resist testing boundaries and ignoring good, solid parental teaching. This is just another tool to use in the effort to be an effective parent. Good for this guy.

Yea because good kids raised by good families and parents never let peer pressure get to them and lead them down the wrong path.

Americans truly do love fascism. Maybe if you educated your kid and took them to see what addiction looks like and how it destroys lives that is one thing. Your kid would never trust you again to tell you about anything if you did this. This is lazy parenting just like spanking.

And does that dog on the billboard have a jay and a firecracker in his nose. What's with the firecracker?

Absolutely inaccurate. Like I said, drugs hit everybody, nobody is truly immune. I know plenty of great parents that have kids who do drugs and drink.
Unfortunately you cannot shelter you kids 100% nor can you make their decisions for them. If a friend offers them something or they want to try it, they will if they want to.

Man, you have it figured out. Why didn't anyone think of this before and realize how simple it is? You need to get this news out to the rest of the world ASAP! Maybe they can start a school program that does this. We can call it D.A.R.E or something.
To you, TJGator215 for solving how to keep kids from experimenting with drugs
