Maybe if you educated your kid and took them to see what addiction looks like and how it destroys lives that is one thing.
Just like if you show a smoker what cigarettes do to their body and educate them on the dangers of second hand and third hand smoke they will quit right?

Your kid would never trust you again to tell you about anything
I would think we are past that point if I have to consider that as an option. First thing first, my job is to parent, not to be a fricking buddy.

I can't wait to find my kids' weed and smoke it my damn self in the garage when they're gone.

Would be cool to have such a dog.
I'd release him in uptown to go and do my bidding. Hook him up with a porterhouse every time he came back with a Q.P. or more.

Maybe it sniffs out drugs and bombs so they put a stick of dynamite and a joint in its nose.
Either that or snorting gunpowder is the new licking frogs.

I need this dog to find my greedy roommate's pot stash.

Are you so fricking stupid that you cant tell if your kids are high or drunk?
Did your parents know you did drugs in HS?

Mine are not old enough where this is an issue yet, but I have good friends who are good people and good parents whose children just cannot resist testing boundaries and ignoring good, solid parental teaching. This is just another tool to use in the effort to be an effective parent. Good for this guy.
Great post

We had a drug dog at Ole Miss in the dorm. They’d run through like once every few months.
Our RA on day 1 told us to hide weed in the fridge (relatively air tight) in air tight containers with lots of other smell good stuff in the room like green tea, eucalyptus candles, etc. It worked like a charm.
That same RA was caught with kiddie porn January of my freshman year
. He was never replaced either, so we had free reign of the floor
I’ll never forget coming home from class and seeing him on the floor in the hallway in cuffs with about 20 cops going through his room and taking his electronics out. That dude sat on my futon and hung out like 2 or 3 times when he made rounds to check up on folks.
Yikes, 7 years...his name was Rip Rippy haha

Why isn't he being arrested for having the packet of drugs.

Excellent reference!
One time I used this like on a poster who said that they loved this show. They didn't get it and got mad at me.
They lied.

Another thing this is good for is if you buy a used vehicle. Back in my military days when I bought a used vehicle I'd immediately take it to the MPs and let them run the dogs through it.

This is a terrible idea. Parents have had their homes seized through asset forfeiture because of drugs found in the home BC of teenagers.
Are they willing to lose their home over this?

Hey kids will do drugs. You got to show them what they will lose or you can help prevent their hiding of drugs by getting high with them. Just a bonding moment between parent and child.

It's a sad testament to your "family" if you feel the need to search your child with a drug dog.

Agree 100%.
Some of these people are unbelievable in their arrogance.
They:
1. Don't have kids older than 12 or are completely unaware of their own kids and the things kids can get into
2. Went all the way through high school and college in the library and playing with themselves
