that's a no dawg for me. I can use that money to schedule a few vacations where I'm not forced to eat from a buffet and live a regimented life for 9 straight months.

That sounds like it would suck. 2 weeks on a cruise ship, tops. And that's a stretch

It would be interesting to compare the STD rate on the cruise ship vs The Villages in Florida. I'd bet they are pretty close.

I imagine there was so much dripping in the hallways they had to mop twice a day.

The trial cruise — which endured some hardships and hijinks from Hurricane Beryl, a passenger death, rumors of swinging couples and rerouting due to military fighting in the Red Sea — was enough of a hit for Royal Caribbean to announce a new journey, according to RoyalCarribeanBlog.org.

I’d prefer nine months on board a warship with a job to do than suffering around a bunch of slap dicks and their women causing drama that you literally cannot escape from. Port calls, yes please, but that sounds like sheer and utter boredom.

I met an (apparently very sexually active) 22 year old from a small town in lousiana that worked on a cruise ship in the early 2000. My friend was her buddy from high school. Apparently she had several stds and wasnt interested in worrying about spreading them.

If I was retired and had that kind of money, I’d snowbird to Boca Raton and rent out a luxury condo for half of the year.

That would be interesting to go on one of those by yourself and stay sober most of the time.

Treat it like a job and get the most out of every single day you are there.

If you went into this cruise with that mindset you would probably have the time of your life.

Neither my wife nor I drink. Don't think there's anything wrong with it, we just don't ourselves. We've been on plenty of cruises and actually our goal for immediately following retirement is to take a world cruise. We both love the idea of it and are looking forward to it.
