I’d rather have none than come up 1 short. Not really but could you imagine what your heart was doing?

According to Mega Millions, nine tickets matched the first five numbers but didn't match the Mega Ball. The game's Megaplier feature was purchased for one of those tickets, raising its prize to $3 million, while the rest won a million dollars.

So you’d rather $0 than $10,000 or $1,000,000.
Interesting take.

Sure, but at the end of the day id still prefer the million bucks over nothing(assuming 5 matching whites)

That’s really not that close. The odds go up exponentially on the last number

1 ball short is either the $1 million or the $10,000 prize. I'd gladly take being 1 ball short than get nothing

I did say not really. But I would have been on an emotional roller coaster.

“H!tler… he only had one ball
Goering… had two but very small
Himmler had something similar
But poor old Goebbels had no balls at all”

I’d say at least 12. Maybe more.

No they don't. it exactly the same all the way through.

Overall, it's 69! ÷ (6! X 63!)

For the first ball you have a 1/69 chance of hitting.
For the second, 1/68, the third 1/67.
Etc.
If you have the first five numbers, for the final ball, you have a 1/64 chance of hitting the jackpot.

As I said in the original thread a few days ago, the lottery is a tax on people that are bad at math.

I got goosebumps just matching the first 3 numbers one time. Used my ticket to buy some beer

This reminds me of the prison guard in Shawshank who unexpectedly received an inheritance from his brother but doesn't think it's worth it because "you know what the IRS is going to do to me?"

Wrong

Five different numbers from 1 to 70 (the white balls) and one number from 1 to 25 (the gold Mega Ball)

Doesn't the final ball come from a separate pot of numbers?

I was really trying to emphasize what my mind would be doing as I started checking off the numbers.

Of course I’d take the 1 million or 3 million for one person.
