SRO apartments in the Tenderloin. Some good features on YouTube cover the topic.

liberals pushing for insanely harsh zoning/building regs and then also bitching about high rent costs is one of those mind blowing arguments that you can never fully ever comprehend.

He could have made $300+ a day working and smoking his balls off being a trimmer in Humboldt or Mendocino. Not enough culcha, I suppose.

Illegal immigrant or not, I'm pretty sure tenant laws in CA (and maybe even moreso within SF) are fricking atrocious as a landlord.

It's probably because the thought of a woman being a bum/drifter/vagrant by herself is absolutely terrifying to me. A dude by himself is going to experience some really rough stuff in the wrong places, but a woman is likely to be raped, beaten, or killed on her lonesome.

1st house I bought in '83 was 6 blocks from the house listed. Tract 2 bed, 1 bath, 1008 sf on a 7900 sf lot. I paid 101K for it which was considered pretty steep at the time.Sold it in '86 for 142K which was considered absurd. Just Zillowed the address...The place sold last November for $1.02million. Insanity. It's that proximity to Silicon Valley.

Damn. You should've held onto that for another decade or 2

Is $2.2M enough to keep bums from doodooing on your doorstep?

Or in Oakland or Hayward.

It's funny knowing that the people who are paying astronomically high and outrageous prices for property in the Bay Area are the same people (overwhelming majority) who hate capitalism and worship liberalism.

You can spot the people that have not the first idea about life in Silicon Valley from a mile away.

That's the thing about being pretty sure. Means you don't know what you're talking about. San Jose being a good example of your lack of knowledge.

If the city government wouldn't set price ceilings via a shite ton of rent control and "affordable housing" the prices of real estate would be this extreme.

Yet another problem created by government trying to help.

I'm always willing to admit ignorance in the face of reality.
