Advisory isn't as bad as a watch, they're not expecting it to come inland, pretty much means just stay out of the water.

Looks like 19.61 meters (over 64 feet !!) in the open ocean off of northern Chile. Prayers for any vessels that were close by at the time.

Holy shite!
I thought the water would rise about the level of the rise in earth's crust meaning a few feet to a couple dozen feet at the most. In open ocean it would hardly be noticeable. When it gets to land and that water builds on itself is when I thought it really gets high since it's a wave traveling the entire dept of the ocean and not just the surface.
It seems 64 feet in the ocean would equal something ridiculous on land.

If its a 19 meter wave in the ocean you have to realize that was the uplift provided by the plates moving. 19 meters waves out to see translate to huge waves at the beach....this is not going to good for some tonite

Exactly. It's not a wave....the ocean just comes up 10'. Plenty of videos of the Japanese Tsunami on that.
10' is serious shite.
I think the coast there is flanked by mountains, so perhaps a lot of people on the shore can get to higher ground quickly?

I'm not exactly sure what the surges were anywhere for Katrina, but I'm from South Plaquemines. The storm surge there was worse than even on the landmass.

You should (closer to will) be fine. If the west coast of South America wasn't wiped out, it shouldn't be a huge deal a couple thousand miles away. If you are right on the beach, then you might consider elevating if it's high tide when it comes through.
