Wow this is depressing

Yeah but this trip down memory lane has been nice, especially during month number 2 of covid isolation!

I wonder how many miles I walked in malls throughout my lifetime

The CDs came in "longboxes" and cost like 20 bucks in 1987 dollars.

Very early on, they kept them behind the counter.

I'll never forget staring at the backside of one early on. It was like looking into the future.

I honestly pity all those who missed the 80s. What an incredible time to be young and alive.

How every single game of Dragon's Lair ever ended for me.

80s and early 90s were easily the best run of years for being a young kid. Much like it seems the 60-70s were best for being a college kid.

Born in 1980, Golden Axe at Alladin’s Castle, $2.75 movie theatre, corn dog, and fitted cap at Pro Image at Acadiana Mall. Good ol’ days.

It was fricking awesome.

Especially the telephone logistics for timing the "meet up".

So cliche but yes those experiences are so much better than what kids have now. Yea, we didn't have cellphones, computers,etc...but was such a blast.

frick, even 90s into early 2000s was fun. Being dropped off a couple hours early for a movie then roaming around with friends, hit the arcade before/after.

Going to see a movie at the mall with you’re friends and spending a couple hours before and after at the arcade and food court was awesome.

AOL Instant Messenger and the Internet accelerated the death of the malls and the ruination of America’s youth but CNN’s National 24hr news network is what really started and eventually drove the nail into the coffin.

It’s what made moms in Kansas think a random isolated incident in Californian directly affected their kids. It’s what’s responsible for helicopter parenting and the bubble wrapped generation. And it’s tragic how that shaped our society.

You missing the K&K toys store

We used to walk the mall for hours, while hitting the arcade for some Tysons super punch out, or all 4 of us would play some gauntlet.

Then hit the food court for some sbarros pizza
