No cell phones, no internet, just a bunch of bros with their VHS cam-corder and the most indestructible American car ever made, the 1981 Buick LeSabre (misspelled in the video title.)

I love that 80's threads give me an excuse to post this gem of a video.

We used to jump canal bridges around Metairie back in the day. Now they are all smoothed out. No fun anymore.

The jump was impressive, but the cameraman did an excellent job of keeping the shot smooth and centered. Well done.

My buddy did that in high school with his dad's Chevy pickup. We landed so hard I wound up head down on the floorboards with my feet in the air, and our other friend on top of me.

The alignment was so bad, he had to turn the wheel all the way left just to make the truck go straight.

When his dad found the truck all fricked up the next morning, he beat the shite out of my friend.

Large camcorders were easier to keep steady than phones due to their ergonomics… handles/straps, and a viewfinder that required it to be pressed against your face making it easier to maintain control.

Imagine a re-make of this for the 2020s with Covid masks, assassinations, dancing syringes, Biden stumbling around, Youtubers streaming while OD'ing on fentanyl, dead malls, Carnival cruise chaos, spy balloons, NJ drones, troons, retards on reality tv, kids riding around on e-bikes with helmets, obese people eating jars of fruit soaked in Kool-aid.

1980s was peak America.

The barber shop and my local bar served as todays rant, off topic and lounge, especially during football.

But they didn't have any of the steady-cam tech that phones have now. I'd say the simple fact that this person even possessed a camcorder in what looks to be about the mid-80's means that he or someone close to him must have video skills.

I had a cousin who was flying down 27 from Holly Beach towards the ferry. He failed to negotiate the curves at the ferry at launched his mother's Olds Broham Delta88 into the marsh. They walked away unscathed due to the fact the car was actually a small tank

You talking about the bridge humps that crossed W Esplanade between Causeway and Bonnabel? Yeah, those were a blast. The Metairie Rd RR tracks were fun as well...
