Im going to bet most of these were customers violating the rules. People have been giant pieces of shite during this.

Dont want to wear your mask? Okay, place of business gets fined and shuts down and now you have one less place to bring your fricking fat arse.

most if not all fast food restaurant lobbies are closed so those places are being sited because of employees not wearing mask

On the other hand you’re going to risk your livelihood because you don’t want to put a piece of cloth on your face?

That is just as ridiculous

It's almost like it's fricking retarded to pass a mandate then have a private business have to enforce it.

If you look at what is being cited it can be tables not far enough apart, customer not wearing mask, not having a crowd manager, having customers congregating.

Here is the thing though, you tell some bloke to put on a mask and they go ape shite on you and threaten law suites because of a medical condition. Then they spam your place of business with complaints.

These arent mostly fast food restaurants though. The gas station by my house is on there for too many customers.

There is places like belk, anytime fitness, pizza hut, cross gate fitness, vincents, sheriwn williams, hair and nail salon, mens salon, coffee shops.

katies is on there, a church is on there. Northshore gymnastics, ursuline acdemy, circle k

Fake News
It's not a 30 percent tax. It's an increase in the payroll tax of 30% of the tax rate they would have otherwise.

Maybe JBE needs to clarify his letter to the delegation

ETA
I don’t fricking care if it was 0.05% or 50%
Businesses are struggling & don’t need any more taxes right now

You know how you solve that solvency problem?

Stop keeping business shut down.

I know, I know, it's a radical idea....but it just might work.

Only a few gas stations I've been to have signs up or anything about how many people are allowed inside.

As for the mask violations, I've been going down towards Grand Isle, Lafitte, Cocodrie in the last three weeks and I would say 75% of the employees at gas stations and 90% of the customers aren't wearing mask.
Doesn't bother me, but those people are going to get popped.

This went into effect 7/13 - today is day 22

The state has logged more than 5,000 inspections since the governor issued his mandate. In July, 698 Louisiana business failed inspections for failing to comply with one or more of the requirements

That is 227.28 inspections a day

"Randomly checking". Pretty sure someone complained because someone always calls when we get busy and someone parks in the handicap or barely in the street. The food truck next to us always gets complaints too. We have an unknown Karen.

I’m sure a lot of the inspections are based on complaints, but they are definitely searching for violations on their own as well. I posted this previously in another thread - shortly before JBE shut bars back down, ATC and the Fire Marshal went to every bar in Denham in one night. Judging by the list posted in this thread, it looks like several of them received citations.

1) JBE doesn't know jack shite about tax policy
2) Our federal delegation, with the exception of Kennedy, doesn't know jack shite about tax policy
3) JBE is trying to get a bailout, and is trying to scare the feds, including our delegation, in order to get one
4) A bailout would stop the increased tax from taking effect.

I hear you. We need to have an effective unemployment fund that is funded enough to handle situations like this. We long-ago decided that the burden of such a fund is 100 percent on employers. Should it be that way? I can see arguments to change that.

JBE could also call a special to deal with this issue, or the legislature can call themselves into special to deal with it.

Like others have said, the easiest solution is to just stop closing businesses and get people back to work.

I think they are referring to the beginning of Phase 2, not the beginning of the mask mandate. Some of the businesses listed are bars that haven’t been open since 7/13.

Your point stands though. Even if it’s 100 per day, it’s still nuts.

Yep
They have been checking this whole time, that makes more sense

A pool area was over its capacity limit, guests were not spaced at least 6 feet apart, groups with more than 10 people were gathered and there was no crowd manager at the Golden Nugget pool in Lake Charles, according to a July 4 inspection.

I wonder if they got holiday pay for busting pool parties on the 4th
