Another Miracle after 10-11 days:
A 60 year old mother who was trapped inside a house buried by the disaster in Betravati has been rescued alive and safely by the Armed Police Force (APF) of Nepal.
In the face of unimaginable danger, our security personnel continue to risk their own lives to protect and save others.
Highest respect and a heartfelt salute to our brave Nepal Army Police personnel and every rescuer on the ground.
May every trapped soul be found alive. Hope must never die.
Other reports say she is 64.

She had reportedly been trapped on the top floor of a four-story building and survived against the odds. Rescue teams are still finding people more than a week after the disaster.

The best case for a lot of those people is if they were killed quickly by the weight of mud etc before they realized what had happened.

That’s my worst nightmare being trapped like that for days on end. You know she’s eternally grateful just to see the sunshine and live out her days.

The death toll is over 1,300 now and the missing total is anywhere from 3,500 to 5,000 depending on the report.
They have started accounting for whole and "partial" bodies recovered. The people working that search and recovery will never be the same.

That is sincerely and truly incredible. I haven't a clue what she must have survived on instead of muddy water she chose to sip

I dunno how someone survives 10 days without water unless she somehow was able to pool some water up from the mud

I think every major disaster is unique in its own way, but at the base of all of them is just immense human suffering that most of us are never really prepared to experience. Humans are remarkable at being able to compartmentalize things, particularly tragedy and suffering, but that can only go so far.
