Didn’t realize that 64% of Americans were currently working.

Not really, had a lot of fun there while I was in college. But it is important in simple sentence structure to have a subject.

This country would be so much better off if its people realized carrying the proverbial water/talking points for the big money that really runs things only hurts themselves. A strong, competent government is the only thing that really acts as speed bump to the corporate wealth, and people still can't see how assiduous they have been in tearing it down. They literally have the cannon fodder screaming for more cannons and bigger cannon balls.

That strong government as long as I’ve been alive seems to only aid in the formation of the conglomerates you hate at the expense of the common person. Corporate bailouts and extremely low interest rates that aid in borrowing has been standard operating procedure my entire life.

People have been trained to consume.
Poor people buying expensive vehicles or phones has been a thing for a while. Now they are having fast food delivered to their house.
Don't forget to post what you bought on social media or it doesn't count.

And that is my point. They have 60% of the country screaming about welfare when a far bigger issue is corporate welfare.
People can recognize government has become just a screaming match but even when following the money still can't piece together the plot points.

This is where I'm at.
My wife and I don't live paycheck to paycheck by any stretch, but how the hell does my neighbor with 1 physicians assistant income, a stay at home wife, and 3 kids under 6 manage to buy a 475k house?

I make right at 6 figures now, I struggle to pay some bills here and there but it is because I a: am saving about 23% right now between 401k, Roth and mutual funds and b: I buy shite I shouldn’t.

Living paycheck to paycheck is very trashy

Winner winner!! I've been asking that for the last 10 years. Can someone tell me the secrets to success?

I never understood that either. The best are the ones that work 7 days a week, 12 hour days and budget their lifestyle accordingly. Then when the boss puts a slash to the budget and everyone goes back to 40 hour weeks, they wonder how they're going to afford everything.

I like doing math so, a PA would take home about $6k a month and the note on that house is about $2,500 so it's doable.

Wife and I make $275K gross. We save 15% for retirement off the top. Take home is about $11,200 a month after taxes, insurance and retirement.
I think 70% of take home is hard bills (2 cars, 2 student loans, mortgage, insurance, day care, food, gas, etc).
We try to save 30% of take home but we're not that good. Probably 18% a month net for checking savings.
I think we're awful at money, personally. We have been trying to get better.

Even among those earning six figures, 48% said they are now living paycheck to paycheck, up from 42% in December, the survey of more than 2,600 adults found.
