Isn't the knock-off Top Golf located right across from the old Melph projects? Sure, they got torn down but the surrounding neighborhood is still rough.

I wouldn't park my truck there for an extended period of time, if that's what you're asking.

If New Orleans city leaders were able to crack down on crime and reduce it to an acceptable level, they would easily be bigger than Nashville and Austin in terms of tourism.

Hey man, we call that culture in these parts

Probably shuts down less than halfway due to 50% cost overruns ala Charity Hospital debacle 20 years after Katrina.

Had a condo next door to that place. Never understood why it wasn’t used as an event space more often. Went see better than Ezra there and it was a pretty good venue. They had a few shows during jazz fest but for the most part it sat empty.

Not sure what to think of this as I have a place on Julia St. Can’t be any good for traffic.

Isn’t that homeless people central?
Cleaned up right now, but after the superbowl it will go right back.

We don’t need any more congestion downtown. It’s awful enough. Nor common chain venues like Top Golf and venues you can find anywhere.

If they are smart they will hire a lot of security guards for the parking lots.

This would be great but I wish it was closer to the French Quarter.

How fat do you have to be to mind the 15 or 20 min stroll from the Convention Ctr to the Quarter ?

That’s the best thing NOLA has going for it as a destination city (if they could reign in the crime of course)- pretty much anywhere you want to go is walkable if ur BMI isn’t totally out of control .

If they keep the city safe and continue to address the homeless the city will do well. Despite its shortcomings people love to come to New Orleans but have to make it safer and cleaner which at least Landry is trying to do and more investment will flow. Also WW2 museum expansions are really well done and first class That museum has to be of best additions to city in last 50 yrs. it attracts a different sort of visitor and is a great educational tool for locals

Good stuff.
Shell is supposed to be building their new office right next to there and some other developments will come with it.
