It is a ring. They are paying minors to do the dirty work for them because they know the new Soros backed DA has publicly come out and said he will not do anything to minors that are arrested. They are carjacking people to get vehicles to commit other crimes & look for guns & other loot in those vehicles they steal. Rinse & repeat. This is your new America. Elections have consequences.

You can’t steal food for your family if you can’t drive to the grocery store. Insurance companies may do better by bringing food to these hungry lads so that they don’t have to carjack privileged folks.

Crazy that insurance won’t pay for the impound cost

The carjacking statute is an effort to make a more serious version of simple robbery when a car is involved. But obviously if there's a gun it should be charged armed robbery, which carries 15-104 when a gun is used.

The city should be billed, not the victim. It is the city's crime. That would be hilarious as the city would never pay.

Is there any other way to carry a gun?
in my mind, no. but there are plenty of people that are not comfortable enough to carry that way. makes it all useless. practice!

Crazy that the city doesn’t pay for it - along with a formal apology to the victims.

This is the result of what the people voted for. I'm sure they are pleased with the actions taken so far to stop it.

At that rate, you would think it's gotta be an organized crime. I wonder how many of the 53 are unsolved cases. It would be interesting to find out if any one they caught is coming from out of town/out of state.
It’s 100% organized crime. One of the groups they arrested was from Houston and now they are using kids to steal these cars because our DA is a fricking moron.

This logic is so dumb.
Yes, we are very pleased. Just like I’m sure you are with your president. The man the people voted for.

Small price to pay for having a venue like Tipitinas, y'all!

That's a ludicrous amount of car jackings. New NEW Jack City?

The logic is your city voted for a mayor and an administration that is totally incompetent and has no plan to curb the violence. Big talk and no action.
When it happens to you or a family member, remember to walk away with a smile on your face.

Just a small annoyance to deal with in return for Jazzfest, Endymion, Red Dress Run, Saints football, Mardi Gras, good food, daiquiris, huge arse beers, and street jazz performers.

I'm not sure that's even the end game. But his stated effort to install soft on crime DAs is working swimmingly around the country. Crime rates are at all times highs in major cities. Can't wait to see what is next on his agenda.

And when this crime spreads across the country and to where you live make sure you do the same.

I was driving around uptown yesterday for the first time in a year or so. It's a prison. Traffic cameras everywhere, the streets are as bad as ever, the shitty areas, the cramped living. and the specter of crime just makes it so off-putting.
