I’m 54 and sometimes I cannot recall the first name of someone that I haven’t seen or thought about for a long time. I can remember everything about that person, even the first letter of his or her name, but can’t remember the entire first name. I usually recall it once I clear my head for a few minutes, but that’s hard to do when I’m in the middle of a conversation with that person.

I forget random stupid shite all the time

I mean how often do you have to warn people about leprosy from armadillos?

I wouldn't sweat it. Just take care of yourself.

You may want to research/consider intermittent fasting. It is said that it facilitates autophagy, which is your body's way of removing damaged or dysfunctional parts of a cell and promoting cell repair.

Obviously intermittent fasting is not appropriate for everyone, discuss w/your doc.

You’ll get used to the sleep machine. It might change your life. Also, Lions Mane mushrooms in a gummy will make your mind sharper.

Post Covid I had some issues that were evident to one and all. It slowly resolved. I take some supplements to assist; primarily
Turmeric for that and numerous other issues associated with inflammation. I’ve just turned 70.

There are games and puzzles that work I’m told. I read and write a lot.

Best of luck and prayers brother.

My doctor told me that if there was only one exercise to do everyday, and that it’s the most important thing to do everyday to battle memory loss, it’s that you should … hold on let me go find it

The more you learn and know, the more you’ll forget. Totally unique to each individual though. Diet and lifestyle.

Friend told her doctor she thought she was losing her memory. He said, “ Do you ever walk into a parking lot and forget where you parked your car?” Worried, she said yes.

He said, “Now, do you ever forget that you HAVE a car?” She said, Well, no!

Doctor told her, “Then you’re OK”

I do that occasionally, too. I went from my living room to my bedroom a few days ago to get my phone charger. I returned to my living room empty handed. Didn’t think of my phone charger again until about a half hour later when I picked up my phone and noticed that it was almost dead.

I'm 80 and became aware in the last couple of years.
I have bred dogs for decades and could remember pedigrees of dogs I owned forty years ago. Now they are fading out.
The same with muscle. I weigh less each year, slowly diminishing. I can still jump rope I believe. I usually jump rope each birthday just to verify that I can. I'll be 81 in August so wish me luck.
Its difficult, sometimes, to carry on a conversation because I can't recall names.

Alzheimers runs in my family.
My Dad started symptoms in his early 70's, died at 79.
There were eight of us.
Three of the four oldest died with Alzheimers between 79 and 90.
Three of the four youngest never had Alzheimers.
Me and a Sister 87, are still able to carry on a conversation.

The brain is not a muscle, you can't exercise it to keep it in shape. Those apps like Brain Builder or crossword puzzles may be fun, but they will not prevent dementia. Nor will OTC supplements, other than the placebo effect. Someone very close to me started showing signs of Alzheimer's about 7 years ago, we had to put him in a memory care unit 6 weeks ago, it is tragic to see one of the most intelligent people I know slip away like that.

There is hope, Eli Lilly is developing drugs which show promise as a way to reverse the progression. I am 73 and do IT consulting, I love the work and mental activity it requires. It may not help prevent, but it makes me feel better.

I had a stroke at about 55…that’s when I saw a marked decline in my memory in the span of an hour.

My cardiologist tells me that people that snore almost always have sleep apnea as well as high blood pressure. Both of these conditions cause inability to focus as well as memory problems.
