Wrong. With his age a manslaughter plea would be a death sentence. He has nothing to lose by taking the case to trial

Where's our resident Texas poster that mows his yard at 6am on Saturday morning with an open carry?

If I was 78 in New Orleans, in all honesty I'm not sure I wouldn't make it known I carry. Get off my lawn!

In all reality, any 78 year old is going to have some bad stories. Most likely any guy that drives a F250 with flames isn't a super great guy. Let's be honest. The prosecutor could put the picture of his truck up in opening arguments and half the jury would be convinced he's a jackass before they said anything.

This was in the middle of Metairie.

The perp's truck is more obnoxious than Lee's IMHO.

They don't live in New Orleans. They live in Metairie, and that part of town doesn't have much crime at all. I've actually spent a lot of time working in the bad parts of town all over New Orleans, and I never once open carried b/c I don't use my gun to intimidate people.

FWIW, Lee had a driveway full of cars/people at his house last night. It has been like that every night. Old man had no one. It has been like that every night.

Yes.

But until yesterday, Wiggins was seen around here as an elderly gentleman who suffered 10 years of bullying from Big Lee, and the old man finally snapped.

Now people are beginning to realize that Wiggins is a bully who likes to show off his sidearm during his interactions with others.

how does a Gen1 Tundra with flames become a F250. Lee had the f250, but I think it's got a blown motor or something. I doubt it's moved in two years.

We will see. You never know how a man reacts in this set of circumstances. Most don't have the huge, dice-rolling balls that they always tell people that they have, and they plead guilty to a lesser charge.

someone in a Red Satrurn Vue was there yesterday looking around and taking pics of things. Shocked no local teens have swiped anything yet.

I don't know exactly how this works, BUT, if he could stay out of jail until appeals are exhausted, then, I agree with that strategy -- it's not bad at all.

But the prosecutor might get mad and start spending his investigator resources on tracking down more "Wiggins is a bad guy" evidence. Also, how would the court feel about allowing Wiggins free until appeals are exhausted? Because, what if Wiggins decides that another neighbor has pissed him off? Prosecutor argues that Wiggins must stay in jail pending appeal because Wiggins is a danger to himself and his community. Is that a far-fetched thing to say?

Rest assured, this will be a very interesting case to follow for the entire community, because it deals with some very relevant community issues: bullying, guns, getting along with neighbors, use of force.

Somebody could have some fun spending time researching a bunch of "Murder 2/Manslaughter" cases in La.

According to codes, you can't have a car sitting in the same spot on the street for longer than 48hrs. I never saw the code for driveway trucks, but I'd imagine it would be something similar, but more lengthy. Wouldn't be hard for him to move it with all of his tow trucks

Oh! Thanks for correcting me. I had a brain block because when I was a kid we had family friends named Higgins, so, it is tough for me to associate that name with something negative.

**on the street**JP codes are so much more lax than in Kenner. They chalk tires constantly here. But by "move" I meant under it's own power. I used to see him in it all the time. Though he had the yellow vette too.

** as long as vehicle has proper registration it can sit in your driveway forever.

He could have used a knife or cracked a crow bar over his head instead of using a gun. Stop trying to blame guns instead of the person. That's what's wrong with you and your kind, y'all don't believe in self accountability.

Idk what was wrong with it, but I guess something major. You'd think he'd be able to find a 7.3 block in decent shape being a tow truck driver and all.

I also found out via ticket that you can't park in your front yard for a party, and found out that you can't park 6" over the sidewalk in a separate ticket.

I've had a lot of good interactions with JPSO, but some of them can go frick themselves. If I'm standing 75ft away, or sitting in my house, there's no reason to give me a ticket for petty shite. Both got thrown out with a phone call

They are starting to crack down on blocking the sidewalks.

We successfully beat the ban in boats in driveways in kenner. But birthing can block sidewalks.
