5 People, Including 3 Infants, Stabbed at NYC Day Care

Two other people, a father of a child at the day care and another woman who worked there, were also stabbed at the Flushing center just before 4 a.m. Friday. The woman was stabbed eight times in the torso; she is also hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

Something like 70% of Americans have less than $5,000 saved. Of those 70% of Americans how many do you think are in high cost of living cities? How many do you think are single mothers?
Hearing about a three day old in day care saddens me, but I'm not surprised.

Yeah some people don’t have paid maternity leave so the idea of taking time off isn’t an option. America sucks about this.

I thank my wife over and over that she decided she wanted to stay home with our kids and we've never had to mess with daycare.

My wife is currently on unpaid maternity leave because she hasn’t been at her current job for more than a year. It’s not uncommon. Life doesn’t always cooperate with your plans. And not everyone is in a financial position to be able to sacrifice an income for an extended period of time.
