I mean it is pretty well known that we have an extremely vulnerable grid. Just because a company is using that to promote a cheap generator doesn’t mean it isn’t true. Lights Out by Ted Koppel is a good book on the subject. Is the United States going to be sent to the Stone Age by an EMP? No. But could portions of the United States suffer lengthy outages from a coordinated terror attack either physically at strategic power plants or cyber, absolutely.
EMPs and coordinated terror attacks?
A couple of errant Mylar balloons knocked the New Orleans power grid off line a few months ago

All the while selling cheap Chinese crap for 3-4 times the price that one can find on Amazon. Preying on the uninformed.

Ask Ukraine what's up. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail. It's also these types that have the chinas of the world reticent to invade.

That company is getting rich off that advertising angle! They do deliver the product they promise, though. If people want those products, it seems to be as good a place as any to buy them.
If I see the word “patriot” in the name of the company, I naturally assume it is a ripoff.

Bunch of fear mongering. I’m not worried about starving. If it hits the fan, there is a Publix less than 2 miles away. I will take it over and become a local warlord.

Well when you stop being poor, eventually you might decide its better to have a disaster stash and not need it, than to need a disaster stash and not have it.

No kidding. Didn't everyone listen to Coast to Coast back in the 90s?

I was in a hardware store in Texas in the summer of 1999. They had a poster up about a lantern that ran on pellets or some odd fuel.
Heard the clerk take a call and say, “No, with Y2K coming, those lanterns are on back order for several months.”
That’s when I realized that a lot of people were losing their minds over Y2K.

I believe every Mormon church has enough supplies to support its congregation for 30+ days

Their marketing angle is panned to the hyper paranoid, super conservative segment that somehow there will be a doomsday event where you won’t have power or food for months. How do people not laugh at this whole operation?

The majority of these sites are owned by Mormons because they believe and are looking forward to the apocalypse. Prepping bankrolls a huge portion of LDS

Some? Sure
Does that leave enough for a huge mob to overwhelm a huge family with an armory? Yes, with plenty to spare.

Your SNAP recipient friends would actually have to put some effort towards feeding themselves in a doomsday situation.
Ignoring the untruthful ad hom, those people are the ones who would team up in a mob as that effort, and steal from preppers (until that ran out and then most would die)

Great book. And relatively accurate to anyone with common sense.

They also sell their stuff at a 30% markup. You can a lot of the same stuff online for way less.
