US Census.gov

quote:

Persons under 18 years, percent

22.6%

Persons 65 years and over, percent
15.6

So 38% of Americans are not of traditional working age and the NYT complains.

Are they advocating child labor or denouncing retirement?

“Chronic pain” and breathing impairments come to mind. Ironic in a fat and often smoker filled demographic.

Subsidize more chemical plants, and call it free-market economics. That will put those lazy six-year-olds and 70-year-olds to work.

Buried in 6th paragraph
“Unemployment was unchanged at 3.6 percent, the lowest that number has been in about 50 years.”

40% of working age adults is easily believable between full time students, stay at home parents, welfare recipients, and people that just refuse to hold down a job and full time criminals.

You completely missed the point. The person said "and 99% are democrats"; I was simply pointing out how ignorant that statement was.

Probably grossly we exaggerated. To fix it, bring back manufacturing to the US. We need to be producers, not consumers.

This site is full of a bunch of middle of the road schmucks who are tied down on 7 year car payments and live in 3br/2bath DSLD houses in Walker. They all mean well but over exaggerate on internet message boards.

It must suck to hate your job this much and have this attitude. I take pride in working and providing for myself. I take pride in being a productive member of society. Sounds like you want to be a leach with them

Ah, the ole faux elitism. While you're looking down on them, someone else is looking down on you.
