I was at home and heard a lot of sirens around 1:30am and sadly my first thought was “I guess someone was shot on bourbon again”

A couple of months ago I commented on the regularity of shootings on Bourbon these days and was chastised by several posters who said it is a rare occurrence and nothing to be scared of. I stand by my original statement.

Counterpoint: the only “incident” I’ve ever personally been around on bourbon was a fist fight in front of the 700 club - ie this same block, around 2010

See this is why when I go to Bourbon Street I don't leave the bar until after sunrise. Much safer walking back to hotel after the sun rises.
