I grew up on the border and so many people including whites, blacks, ay-rabs etc go to mex for healthcare needs, namely dental and minor surgery. Going to stock up on pills etc was much more of a thing before 9/11 when security was looser at the border.
Another thing people of all backgrounds do is fly out of reynosa or matamoros to go to places like cancun. Some of my friends just did this last weekend. When i was very young we’d sometimes go across to eat at Garcia’s which was a destination restaurant. Winter Texans used to practically live there
I was 16 when 9-11 happened and everything changed for the worse on the other side of the border. We would go drinking in Mexico every weekend. Dozens of American teens getting shitfaced every fri-sat night and just wandering back across and driving home drunk like no big deal at all. Then security got tighter after 9-11, police presence increased on our side and that shite got shut down for good.

She's not the only one. A little research reveals that between the four of them, these "innocent Americans" had 17 priors in N.C. S.C. and Georgia of which eight were drug related. You got to love how the media portrays these folks as angels who were there just to get a little cosmetic surgery.

Without reading the whole story on this I just want to say that it seems like the news is selective when they report the news. As we start getting into 2024 with the presidential election you start seeing stories that touch on certain issues. Like this sort of being a border issue. Because lets be honest, is this really something shocking?
