They can be fired, but it is highly doubtful that any lawsuit would proceed.

They can also be hunted down and killed by a angry family member or maybe that angry person takes out someone they love

The local media is silent.

The ones invited to Murphy’s press conferences are silent. The one they try to exclude has already reported it

quote:

“When this incident occurred, there were three Baton Rouge Police officers outside in the parking lot who immediately responded to the shooting incident,” said Chief Paul. “Those police officers immediately responded to the threat and we believe their immediate response prevented further injuries. The officers were able to able quickly secure the scene as well as administer life-saving aid until EMS and fire arrived to administer emergency medical services.”

But credible sources have confirmed to Unfiltered with Kiran that Baton Rouge Police officers outside the club were working extra duty. In fact, sources said those officers are the ones who heard the gunfire and ran inside the club. But BRPD did not mention having officers as the extra duty detail.

BRPD has a specific policy entitled “cowardice”, which is on their most serious violations level. The Officer can be fired for this offense, but will not be if he is of a certain persuasion. If he is of another persuasion, he better start cashing in his privilege chips on indeed.com.

They protect and serve the government.

People lining up to lick their boots for doing nothing... and the cops would frick them over too unless they 1. have a badge or 2. are part of the government.

I don’t know how you live in Baton Rouge. I’d be ashamed to say I live there.

Kiran’s article doesn’t hint at wrongdoing. Seems like she would jump all over a story like that.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I don't see that them being on a paid detail is a big problem. Officers work paid details all the time.

Now, I don't know if their required response changes due to whether they are on shite or on detail.

If it was an approved detail, there would be no wrong doing as far as officers being on property working. Murphy changed the department’s extra duty policy a couple of years ago to allow officers to work details at bars as long as it is approved by his office

Well, go get us the actual oath they take and we can discuss what it requires.

Where are you getting this information from?

I've criticized cops a lot on here, but it was my understanding that the cops rushed in and intervened? That's what my wife told me she read. :idunno:

The police have ZERO legal obligation to protect anyone from a crime. Supreme Court precedent.
