"S" corp
I haven't seen anyone argue a S corp election isn't advantageous to some people, but what are the advantages for the person in the OP? How can she argue that not all her comp is "reasonable salary"? What can be considered non-taxable profits?

Less money though. Before you start comparing, remember that this person gets no benefits and has to travel constantly. An Emergency Room doctor who goes contract and travels will likely make $500k.

Oh buddy, you need to stop listening during the Ethics CLE and buy an hour with my accountant.

The average salary for an anesthesiologist assistant is $140,000 which is terrific for a 6 or 7 year path. She is in the very top 1% of that field. If she is just now making 300K after age 30, I’d rather have that MD next to my name. You can do a lot more with that MD and have way more flexibility. An anesthesiologist MD can get out of school by age 30.

not having extensive schooling
What’s considered not having extensive schooling? Who would you rather put you to sleep—a MD or CRNA? (CAA needs a MD to put you to sleep).

It says she lives in New Mexico now which has a lot of trouble attracting talent to move there. I see locum work there all the time. Her travelling could consist of staying in Albuquerque as a hub and going out for a few days at a time to the rural areas of New Mexico. Not the worst gig if you're single.
New Mexico fricking sucks. It’s the shittiest 3rd world looking state in this country.
Beautiful, beautiful landscape.

Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) 4-5 years Work as a nurse in ICU setting 1-3 years Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) School 3 years So, minimum of 8 year path. They make more than many doctors.
It’s a really good field no doubt, but the average salary is $212,000 a year. The lowest paid doctor is a pediatric endocrinologist which makes an average of $218,000 a year. If you want to be a nurse become a nurse. If you want to be a doctor become a doctor. A nurse anesthetist is a nurse working under a doctor. Either one of those fields is really good though. It’s all a matter of what you want.

You're overthinking it
IRS hasn't targeted it much. Maybe at some point they will, but not with how much of a shite show they got going on now.

Lol what an idiot you are
4 years at nursing school
Minimum 2 years of critical care experience
CRNA school is 3-4 years
10 total years to become a CRNA not including how competitive it is to get in.

Still easier than med school.

At her income level and where she’s working, there’s almost certainly not one. She’d pay more in compliance costs than what she’d save in taxes

Didn’t we just have a conversation on how it’s so tough to make money now compared to 50 years ago? I figured everyone’s dad would be CRNAs and control room operators cooking steak back then.

So you're admitting Allied Health students go to the same med school, or health science center? Whatever they called it...

“Sister in law is a CRNA and makes 350k (not joking)
Much easier road to making good money than med school “
I’m a radiologist. I make 800k a year at least. Last year I made 1.2 million.
I’ll take my med school route

Look, I get it you can write any numbers you want on any line of a 1040 or Schedule and spikes don't pop out and kill you when you sign it. That being said I want to at least be able to make a remotely good faith argument that it is legitimate with a semi-straight face. I just don;t see it in this case. Further, let's say she files 150K as profit distribution. That saves, what, $4,350 a year so even if she is audited after 5 years of doing it the final tally should still be a check she should be able to stroke without looking for a payday loan place or calling her parents for a familial bridge loan. However, that audit is going to ping the past discrepancy and non-compliance in the IRS flag system. You don't want a fruitful audit on your "permanent record" because that one is real. If she does that and if she had my luck, she would marry a contractor and they would live their life in the IRS microscope and never get out of purgatory.
Again, I am just looking for the argument that could be made with a straight face to an auditor.
