This is true.

Average adult male with exercise will burn around 3k calories a day. Comes out less than a pound worth of calories per day. It is extremely difficult to actually lose more than a pound or so a day unless you are morbidly obese with a 3k BMR and lots of exercise.

I've switched to carnivore and eat a pound of ground beef, six eggs, a two inch ribeye, and snack on jerky and pork rinds and I lose up to five pounds a week on average.

My guess is water weight. Anytime you cut carbs you lose water weight immediately.

When you starve yourself your body attacks muscle first which is denser.

Yes you will but water will be there also.

Do you fast 24 hours everyday?

I have been eating that way for 22 years now. I started after I read the book Warrior Diet by Ori Hoklifler (sp)

I wasn't doing it to lose a few pounds, at least not as a primary goal. More of a mental challenge and to see if that claimed HGH increase is gonna kick in. Not that I can tell.

Btw, be careful eating crazy amount of protein without enough fat. Keto relies on heavy fat intake, and a moderate protein. If you're eating frickton of meat, make sure it's fat meat so you don't overload your liver- too much protein is no bueno for it.

Not in the short term. After a week, definitely. And more often than not it's on a prolonged caloric deficit.

A lot of "muscle" loss" is actually also volume. You lose fat more often from your arms and legs first and then your body starts hunting for residual fat around thighs and belly. At least that's how it works for majority. Some muscle does get cannibalized of course, but it's fat tissue that gives your arms the fullnelss and water that's also making it smaller.

Trying hard shite is cool.

Had to read this sentence twice.

I thought you said “Taking a hard shite will make you loose weight.” Which it kind of does?

I always wanted to open a buffet that changed by the pound. You come in and weight yourself before sitting down and when you leave your new weight is calculated and you pay your meal.

Of course the bathroom is only available before and after your meal.

No weight came off on 1st or 2nd day, I weighed myself on a third day and lost a pound. But after I quit the fast I noticed I couldn't eat as much as before so had a relatively light dinner. Woke up next day and I was down about 4lbs from when I started. Now today I'm up maybe 1lb, so all and all it's about 3lbs lost or 1lb fat loss/day. I believe it was fat loss because there's less around midsection and my arms got more defined.

It's a 3 day fast. It's almost all water loss.

Dude, I can lose six pounds in a day in the Summer if I run midday outside or work outside.

Losing water weight as opposed to actual fat is completely different..

Fasting does have a lot of health benefits ..

Fascinating how big you don’t eat you lose weight?
I think your stomach contracts and maybe that’s why you have curbed your appetite I have heard that fasting does work.

Exactly. You body stores about 3-4 grams of water with every gram of glycogen. So if you burn 500 g of glycogen (about 2,000 calories), you lose an additional 1,500-2,000 g of water. With each Kg = 2.2 lbs, 1,500g - 2,000g of water = 3.3 lbs - 4 lbs.

This is exactly what the OP saw. Now that OP is eating again, their body is storing glycogen and water again. Hence the 1 lb weight gain...

You have to push yourself past day 3 to get the full health benefits. That's when you get the metabolic shift that regenerates stem cells. In my experience, from day 4-7, your body feels like a fn T-1000 robot. Incredible amounts of energy & mental acuity.

Try getting to 5 days next time & then 7 th3 next time & see how different you feel.
