Also remember that Palo Alto has incredible weather. He's probably really comfortable sleeping at night.

I wonder how much he makes each month. It said he's paid off about $6k of his student loans in four months and has $16k left. Surely he's not making less than $2k/month.

How do you lure pussy back to that?

The same way you lure pussy into any creepy white vehicle.... with candy or stuffed animals.

Kid is probably making 6 figures already so I could imagine he will be on track to save the very hefty downpayment that is needed to get anything in the surrounding burbs.

Google doesn't actually pay that well. A coworker buddy of mine has a brother who is a manager level employee and he said that they consider all the perks as a significant part of employee income.

This is a very big discussion amongst all the big companies in Silicon Valley and I'm sure this article is keeping it in the forefront. They are under a lot of pressure to create affordable housing.

I know a guy doing cement work on the apple campus out there. Why they are building what are effectively huge underground bunkers is questionable. Perhaps it's housing? Grpund temperature is pretty consistent.

A quick Glassdoor search for a Google software engineer with <1 year experience in San Francisco yields $128k base so it might not be much of an assumption. The cost of living is ridiculous out there, so the wages have also become inflated.

I have lived like that, but without such easy access to food and showers. It can be rough but it's also hard to justify rent somewhere and forego that savings each month, without a very, very good reason.

This will become much more popular, I believe.

Im not sure I would call him a "genius" . I think if he didn't work at google people would think he's trashy. Trade out google for McDonalds and he's instantly trashy.
