He may have a really low interest rate, in which case it would make sense to day down higher interest debt or to max out retirement accounts.
Having student loan debt for the entirety of my life is actually a goal of mine. I want there to still be a balance on that account when I kick it. The student loan bill will always always be my lowest priority.

Yikes, well if that's the case it's certainly changed since I was there 99-03. I used to joke that thanks to all the gay dudes there were plenty of single chicks for me
I guess this is a by product of the tech revolution? Even more of a reason to not live there and pay those high arse rent prices. I did like living there a lot though, fun city. Happily married in Hawaii now but I would live in SF again if there was a great situation for us.

Kind of easy to do when you can live in your office building at no cost.
Funny thing is I imagine there's somewhere in the complex that he can crash for free. An employee in my building could easily crash here (gym, showers, cafeteria, etc) if he figured out a discreet system for taking care of his laundry. We have a dry cleaner but no regular washers and dryers .

The problem may be unloading that 750k condo if/when the bubble burst.

Google should build some subsidized housing for its employees like the armed forces.
I heard Exxon did this at their mega-campus they built in The Woodlands, TX, just north of Houston.

I suddenly feel foolish for living in a house all these years

Would he get a DUI if he drinks in there?

This is a very big discussion amongst all the big companies in Silicon Valley and I'm sure this article is keeping it in the forefront. They are under a lot of pressure to create affordable housing.
This reminds me of the old company towns owned by the coal mines. Hey, maybe Google will start paying their employees in scrip they can use at the company store.
"Sixteen tons, what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt. Saint Peter, don't you call me, I can't go. I owe my soul to the company store."
Yeah, this isn't a good thing that is going on.

It's the Bay Area and he works for google.
Now that doesn't mean he's pulling ot 10's. he's probably pulling trannies hairy women and other weirdos from San Francisco

Except that in this case, the coal company is paying VERY well as to attract the best miners from around the world and the mine happens to be located in a high demand area due to its Mediterranean climate and natural beauty.

Funny you mention that. You get free laundry too at Google. Basically he is covered. All he really needs is a place to sleep at night and he does...in his truck.
