2021 Genesis G80 - WYDI?

I used to scoff at the Genesis kind of vehicles when they were still branded under Hyundai. “Who’d pay $45k for a Hyundai Sedan?”
However, since they’ve distanced themselves from that and formed their own make, I’m really liking what they’re doing. This is the first model that actually made me stop what I was doing and look it up.

Back looks like my S7. I do not like the bullshite behind the wheels or the genesis wording in the back.

Everytime I see a Genesis I briefly think it's a Bentley

Looks nice, but I will say, I HATE the direction all these car makers are going with these oversized, giant grills in front. I saw a new Audi sedan (not sure on the model) the other day and I had to do a double take because it looked like something out of a cartoon.

The interior looks nice, but the exterior doesn't work for me.
The GV80, which is essentially the SUV version of this, looks much better IMO. The design language is more suited to that form.

That's a fine looking automobile. Shame they aren't selling terribly well though. They need to get caught up on SUVs. Nobody is buying luxury and sport sedans anymore. SUVs is where they can make some money.

I would drive it. I doubt I would buy it for the asking price though.

I mean you have to look past the name and consider the class they're competing in and you're often paying 30-40K less than Mercedes, BMW, Audi for a comparable product with better reliability and better warranty.

Grille is atrocious.
Hell no... They have improved, but not as polished and refined as Lexus.

Fit and finish is where they are lacking compared to Lexus and the Germans, pal.
