That "abundance" just going to "trickle down" to the middle class, right? Altman, Musk, et al. programming that into the code? Hard coding prosperity for the middle class if the good ole U S of A comes out on top of the AI race? Because that's what oligarchs do. Assure prosperity for their serfs.

Hazam al-Assad, a member of the Houthis’ political bureau, said it is “unreasonable and illogical” that they would rely on open sources to develop and produce military capabilities.
“Our armed forces have modern, diverse and developed production capabilities and technology that it has accumulated over the period of Saudi aggression on Yemen,” al-Assad said, referring to the kingdom’s involvement in Yemen’s 12-year civil war. He said all weapons are used for self-defense.
The report was the third put out by Anthropic since March 2025 on global misuse of its AI platforms, and it described findings from December to August, ranging from state-sponsored groups spreading propaganda to unnamed actors researching how to make biological weapons more deadly.

No treaty will work when it comes to AI.
We had bioweapons treaties to try and prevent 'a covid' from happening.
And they didn't work. We still got covid anyway and we were the ones responsible for funding the whole deal. The US gamed the system. Created the covid virus using a loophole based on the intent to develop a countermeasure. Covid escaped the lab and destroyed a bunch of people and the global economy.
AI will too. We being teed up for that.
People scrambling to get ahead political risk of an AI assisted cyberattack sending us into a global economic meltdown.
Any Ai treaty would be waste of time and against the US's own interest. We getting stroked off from behind with all this bs.
The only reasonable solution is go full speed ahead with all of it. Trying to do a safety time-out was a good idea 10-years ago and It's too late to put on a condom after you've already fricked.

What I’m really not looking forward to is the next round of presidential debates. Prob gonna be a bunch of 75 year olds who obviously never used AI in their life spitting out talking points and trying to sound informed about it.
