Yet another impractical vehicle for Ascension Parish dads.

It comes with a choice of a 6.6L diesel V8 that produces 910 lb-ft of torque or a 6.6L gasoline V8.

As you can see, the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD is big. Really big. Features editor Scott Evans stood next to one at a preview event and found the Duramax badge was almost at eye level. And those helpful bed steps you see in front of the rear wheels? Those are mid-thigh height. So if yo}re 6-foot-6 and need a new truck, look no further than the Silverado HD.

I think the front looks like a Ford, but the rest is okay. I like the step side. The exhaust looks like a cannon barrel.

Supposedly it's several sizes larger than the current HD trucks, and dwarfs the new half tons (which themselves were substantially larger than their predecessor).

quote:

The HD is physically bigger than the half-ton truck and looks absolutely nothing like it. The two trucks get completely different sheet metal with only the roof panel common to both half-ton and 2500/3500 models. Parked next to each other, as I saw them last month in Arizona, the new HD dwarfs the standard Silverado in practically every way — it's an absolute monster of a pickup truck.

Chevrolet says that the cab shares the same kind of improvements as the light-duty model does, with 3 inches more legroom for passengers and a taller, more upright driving position. The high bed can be accessed by a novel new integrated side step that's fitted to the forward part of the bedside. We weren't allowed to try it (the truck we saw was a clay model and we weren't allowed to even breathe on it too hard, lest it break), but it seems like a simpler way to get into the bed from the side of the truck without using the tire as a step.

quote:

Chevy will be making the new Silverado 2500/3500 at its truck plant in Flint, Mich., and says that sales will begin in mid-2019.

Excellent for hauling a few bags of trash to the dump or the couch to your daughter's college apartment. Something every suburban dad needs.

I’m excited they made something with ground clearance.

I hope my wife won't wreck this one when I decide to carpool to the plant. Her hair salon is important but my truck is importanter.

Unfortunately their target audience can no longer get into the vehicle....but there is an optional jetway that you can install on your home to help you get into the cab.

Not butthurt. Just can’t decide if I like it or not.

Towing a boat, camper or utility trailer I prefer a truck with a lower stance. Not everyone hunts and needs 4 wheel drive

Also those rims are booty

Yeah, I actually like the look of it. All new trucks look decent except the Titan. That thing is really ugly.

Dodge makes the best looking truck, but it's a Dodge.

No bowtie which is interesting. Similar to the mid 1960’s trucks.

It has a rougher, more industrial look to the front.

Hold on, they did away with the 6.0?

I think that’s still the standard engine.

They just have a new big block gasser now from their medium duty trucks as an option.
